Qalibaf offers condolences to Syrian counterpart over Homs terrorist attack

Tehran, IRNA - Iran’s Parliament Speaker in a message to his Syrian counterpart has offered his condolences over the martyrdom of civilians and soldiers in a terrorist attack that targeted a graduation ceremony for the Military Academy cadets in Homs, Syria.

Condemning terrorist attack in Syria, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf offered his heartfelt condolences to the Speaker of the Syrian People's Assembly Hammouda Sabbagh, members of the parliament, the government, the army, and people of the friendly and brotherly country of the Syrian Arab Republic, over the loss of the civilians and soldiers.

He also extended condolences to all the families of the martyrs, praying for a swift recovery for the injured.

Undoubtedly, such heinous actions reveal the need for the serious determination of the international community and the cooperation of regional countries to decisively and responsibly combat the ominous phenomenon of terrorism as an international necessity, he highlighted.

The Syrian military statement, as per the official news agency SANA attributed the attack to “armed terrorist organizations” who targeted “the graduation ceremony for officers of the military academy in Homs,” a government-held city in central Syria.
